What Donut Trust is

Donut Trust is a community trust tool for DonutSMP players. Players verify that they control a Minecraft account, then anyone can search a username and see vouches left by other verified players before trading with them. This is an independent, unofficial tool made by players, for players.

Donut Trust is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Mojang, Microsoft, or DonutSMP. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. We reference these names only to describe what this tool is for.

How account verification works

To verify your account, you send a small, specific in-game payment to confirm you control that Minecraft username. We never ask for or see a password of any kind, on Minecraft, Discord, or anything else. Verification only proves you control the in-game account at that moment.

What we store

We store the minimum needed to run the site:

• Your Minecraft username and the time you verified it
• Vouches you submit or receive: the other player's username, your verdict, an optional note, an optional proof image, and a timestamp
• IP addresses, associated with verifications and vouches, used to prevent spam and detect abuse patterns such as many accounts operating from the same IP

We do not store passwords, payment details beyond the in-game amount used to verify, or any data from Minecraft, Mojang, or Microsoft accounts beyond a username.

Proof images

You can optionally attach a screenshot as proof when leaving a vouch. Images are compressed and screened before storage (see "Automated content checks" below); images that fail this check are rejected and never stored. Proof images are only ever shown alongside the vouch they were attached to.

Automated content checks

Vouch notes and proof images are automatically screened by a third-party moderation API (OpenAI) before being saved, to block disallowed content. We also run automated pattern detection - looking at things like account velocity, shared IP addresses, and circular vouching - to flag potentially fake or coordinated activity for human review. These automated systems only flag activity; a person always reviews a flag before any action is taken.

Vouches are opinions, not facts

Vouches and scam reports are submitted by individual players and reflect their own experience or opinion. Donut Trust does not investigate, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any vouch. A trust score is a summary of what other players have said, not a certification of anyone's honesty. Always use your own judgment before trading, regardless of what a profile shows.

Your responsibilities

Don't submit false or malicious vouches, impersonate another player, or attempt to manipulate a score through fake or duplicate accounts. We may remove vouches or restrict access for accounts that abuse the system.

Removing or disputing a vouch

You can delete a vouch you submitted at any time from that player's profile. If you believe a vouch left about you is false or abusive, or an account or vouch looks suspicious, join our Discord and open a ticket so it can be reviewed.

Changes to this page

We may update these terms as the site changes. Continued use of Donut Trust after an update means you accept the current version.
